窶弋oeko TATSUNO: Not-Yet-Seen Forms窶 @MOMAS

窶弋oeko TATSUNO: Not-Yet-Seen Forms窶 is running at The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama, on the ground floor.
This exhibition is a part of The Reopening Commemoration of MOMAS: The Third Period.
With the print collection by MOMAS, there are such as large oil paintings and newly found screen prints.
This is the htird exhibition at museums in Japan after she has past away one year ago.

Three large sized lithographs were printed by Edition Works and published by Shirota Gallery, 1991.
The dynamism and the energetic expression are comparable to those of her oil paintings.

The first Tatsuno’s editions by Edition Works are a series of six etchings, published by us in 1992.
You can find this popular series in a smaller room with a large size color etching published in 1993.
These etchings have rich tonality and efect from chine-colle technique.

This exhibition is featured by four screen prints made in ’70s. One of them was found her parent’s house recently.
These screen prints not only have the systematic pattern that is her early style, but have free and rich brush strokes that is her later charactor.
These must be a important series to know deeply her works.

On the first floor, the exhibition 窶弋his is Amazing!窶 is running. (the following text is by MOMAS) There are as many minds as there are people, and there is a great variety of works. Just the thought of this is quite exciting, but when we actually encounter an inspiring artwork, we can also regain our strength. This exhibition introduces artists that were recommended by curators and specialists who have conducted research on Outsider Art.
