アーティストコメント
私の“花”の絵画シリーズ（2002〜）は、そのテーマ・モチーフを17世紀オランダで興盛を極めた「ヴァニタス」*に、また、技法的にはストリートのグラフィティー**からインスピレーションを得たものです。
今回の《FLOWERS》シリーズは、“花”の絵画のテーマ・モチーフ・技法をそのままキャンバス上から銅板上に移し替えたものと言えます。
ただ、絵画においてはその技法上の制約から、モチーフを白い痕跡（影、幽霊）、つまりネガ・イメージとしてしか表現できませんでしたが、今回の《FLOWERS》において、初めて、モチーフを黒いシルエット（ポジ）として表現することが可能となりました***。
《FLOWERS》、それは、定着に成功した“心霊写真”（ついに、幽霊を撮らえた／捕えた！）とも言えるものです！！ |
| "FLOWER" is a series of eight etchings (aquatint) made by Yuichi Higashionna in 2006-07. This aquatint technique was diverted and arranged from his flower painting series' technique (check the images at a bottom of this page). On the canvas of paintings, the objects' images remain white. And on these prints, they have gained enriched black bodies for the first time. |

銅版の上に様々なオブジェを配置する
chains, laces and a artificial flower were placed on a copper plate.

エアガンで微妙な調整をしながらトーンの土台をを作る
paint was sprayed with air brush to create the delicate tonality.

これらの作業の後、アクアチントの製版行程を経て版が出来てゆく。
after these work by the artist, the plate will be done the aquatint process.
